Flowmetry (or uroflowmetry) is a functional diagnostic test that measures the volume of urine expelled, the speed (maximum and average flow), and the duration of urination. It is one of the main clinical tools for detecting abnormalities in the lower urinary tract, such as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (prostatic enlargement), urethral stricture, or bladder muscle contraction problems.
